Achieve Your Vision - Free Presentations
Having experienced and overcome my fair share of hardship in life, I am offering to speak to groups of 40 or more about the importance of having a vision and acting upon it so that dreams can be turned into reality.
In 1948, when I arrived in Australia at the age of 16, my first vision was to run my own business – 4 years later I started my own fruit shop and after later moving into banana wholesaling, achieved a 25% share of the Australian banana industry.
My second vision was to fall in love, get married and have a role model family – 3 years later I married my best employee. We have been happily married for 50 years with 4 children, 10 grand-children and 2 great grand-children.
In 1968, my third vision was to get involved in community service so I joined the Lions Club. My commitment to helping the under-privileged since then has earned me every Lions International Award, the honour of being named Senior Australian of the Year 2009 and a Pope Knighthood.
My fourth vision was to start the Easter Passion Play – the story of Jesus Ministry, the greatest story ever told. Now in its 15th consecutive year, the production has brought together hundreds of volunteer actors and crew in the true spirit of community service.
In 2000, my fifth vision was to start the Pat LaManna Cancer & Stroke Research Foundation. To date, the Foundation has received $450,000.00 in interest from the money raised, allowing it to continue its valuable work in reducing major illness and death from cancer and stroke.
My present vision is to continue working tirelessly for the community. Achievement needs to be shared with people in need to reduce the gap between the rich and poor in our society. I believe I can motivate people to set and achieve their own visions in life with the hope that they too will give back to the community.
